  Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can your H2000 or H4000 player play AVI files?
A: Helios H-Line players are capable of upscalling a variety of formats including: MPEG-4, Xvid, Divx codec AVI format video files to 1080i resolution via Component, HDMI and VGA; as well as your entire DVD collection.
Q:

I have some Region 2 DVDs. If I purchase one of your H2000 players, will it play both Region 1 (USA) and Region 2 DVDs?

A: Helios H-line players are region code free. You can play any DVD title from any region in the world.
Q:

Does H2000 player support subtitle file?

A: The player has support for the VobSub subtitle, *.sub / *.srt / *.smi / *.idx format subtitle files are all supported.
Q:

Will the H4000 provide the upscalling through the Component outputs? Component outputs are the outputs I wish to use in my system connections. I have a Panasonic plasma TV and it supports Component. Are there any compatibility issues I should be aware of?

A: The Helios H4000 player is able to output 720p/1080i/1080p HD video via component output, which is the key feature of this player. As long as your display accepts HD video through component input, this player will offer very high-end image quality on screen.  Although certain displays can not get 1080p from this player through HDMI output, this player should have no problem via the component connection in regards to full 1080p HD displays.
Q: Is 480i/576i supported by this H2000 player?
A: You can allow this player to output an unprocessed 480i/576i video signal and allow your TV/external video scaler to do the work. This will help you maximize its performance and consequently, ensure you have a much clearer, distortion-free image.
Q: If I want to connect to my projector direct via VGA/RGB-HV connection, is it possible to get HD video with this H2000 player?
A: The H-line players come with VGA connection, and it is able to output 6 different type video signals via VGA output, VGA/SVGA/XGA/SXGA/720p/1080i.
Q:

Can I get 1080i from H2000 player on commercial discs into my Toshiba 34HF81 CRT, which accepts 480P/1080i?

A: The H-line players upscale all normal DVD titles to 1080 full HD over HDMI and component so yes, you will be able to obtain 1080i over the component connection.
Q: I have a Panasonic 42" 720p plasma. Will your player upconvert the commercial DVD’s resolution, and to what degree?
A: Helios players are able to upscale all normal DVD titles to 720p/1080i/1080p resolution. Technically, the TV image will only look as good as the quality of the picture you provide to it. Ideally, the best resolution is a 1:1 mapping to the native resolution of your display. For example, if 720p is the native resolution of your display, it is also the maximum resolution you can get from your Helios player.
Q: Can your H2 or H4 players play MPEG-4 AVC files or H.264-files?
A: Unfortunately due to the chipset limitation, current H-Line players will not be able to support H.264 codec, and MPEG-4 AVC format video is not supported either.  However we do have plans to launch a network media player in Q4 this year which will support the H.264 codec.
